Chicago Police are warning residents of business robberies in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

At least two robberies have been reported in the neighborhood since Feb. 7, according to a community alert from police.

The robberies happened in the 5500 block of West Division Street at 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 7 and at 12:42 p.m. on Feb. 18, police said. In each robbery, a man with a knife or screwdriver walked into a store, threatened or battered the employee and took money out of the register.

The man is described as a 40 to 50-year-old black man, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
