A 72-year-old woman was shot several times through the window of a home in the Englewood neighborhood Wednesday evening.

The woman was inside the home in the 7200 block of South Sangamon about 6:55 p.m. when shots were fired at the home from the street, police said.

She was shot in the chest, hand and buttocks and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he condition stabilized, police said.
