Police are searching for two men charged with robbing several people during Craigslist meet-ups in northwest Indiana.

Nvaun Lewis, 21, of Hammond; and John F Johnson, 29, of Gary, both face two counts of attempted armed robbery and two counts of armed robbery, according to Gary police. Lewis has also been charged with four counts of armed robbery and aggravated battery, and two counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon.

The pair used websites like Craigslist and OfferUp to lure people to Gary to rob them, police said. The incidents occurred Jan. 21, Jan. 23, Feb. 2, Feb. 6 and Feb. 14.

Both Lewis and Johnson remain at-large, police said. Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call Det. Sgt. Gregory Wolf at (219) 881-1210; or the Crime Tip Line (866) CRIME-GP.

Police urge anyone using such websites to make exchanges in a public places such as the front lobby of a police station.
