A 37-year-old northwest suburban man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child he knew under the age of 13 in his home in Woodstock.

Anthony V. Ferrara of the 1200 block of Wood Drive was charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a statement from Woodstock police.

Police began investigating Ferrara on Dec. 27, 2015, when a child under the age of 13 told police that Ferrara inappropriately touched them in his home the day before, , police said. Investigators later learned Ferrara knew the child.

Ferrara is being held at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility on a $150,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for March 3.
