A 16-year-old boy was shot in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the Lower west Side Friday afternoon.

The boy was shot in the back in the 2100 block of West Cermak Road at 2:53 p.m., police said.

He showed up at Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
