A 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

The boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 7300 block of South Jeffrey Avenue at 2:30 p.m. when a green or blue car drove by and someone inside fired shots, Chicago Police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the groin and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
