A 20-year-old south suburban man was fatally shot Saturday night in south suburban Chicago Heights.

Karriem Humphrey was shot in the torso at South Halsted Street and East 12th Street in Chicago Heights before 7:30 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Humphrey, of the 1900 block of Dartmouth Drive in Chicago Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:33 p.m., according to the medical examiner.

An autopsy Sunday ruled his death a homicide.

Chicago Heights police could not immediately provide further details.
