Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will make $14.599 million if he begins next season under the Bears’ franchise tag.

The NFLPA released this season’s franchise tag figures — the average of the top five salaries at a given position — Monday. The Bears have until 3 p.m. Tuesday to give Jeffery the franchise tag or agree to a new long-term contract.

The two sides are likely to reach a long-term deal sooner or later; they can continue negotiating even after the Bears tag him Tuesday.

Last week, GM Ryan Pace said the Bears and Jeffery were in active negotiations on a new contract.
