33-year-old woman killed in northwest Indiana crash

A 33-year-old woman died in a single-car crash Wednesday morning in northwest Indiana.

Christina Neer was driving a yellow 2007 Pontiac G5 when she crashed sometime before 6:45 a.m. in the 300 block of East State Route 130 near Hobart, according to the Lake County coroner’s and sheriff’s offices.

Neer, of the 100 block of East Main Street in Wheeler, Indiana, was dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office. She suffered blunt force trauma in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

The Crash Reconstruction Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The cause and circumstances of the crash remain unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.
