A man and woman were arrested Wednesday after police found child pornography, drugs and a firearm in their north suburban Fox Lake home.

Officers executed a search warrant in the 0-100 block of Riverview Avenue, where they found child pornography, a firearm, more than a kilogram of marijuana, LSD, MDMA, psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia and numerous pills, according to a statement from Lake County sheriff’s office.

Joshua S. Hoffman, 24, was arrested and charged with the following felonies:

  • One count of reproducing child pornography;
  • Seven counts of possessing child pornography;
  • One count of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver;
  • One count of possession of over one thousand grams of cannabis;
  • One count of criminal fortification;
  • One count of possession of a firearm without FOID;
  • One count of possession of LSD;
  • One count of possession of psilocybin mushrooms;
  • One count of possession of MDMA; and
  • One count of possession of numerous pills.

Mariah M. Carlos, 19, was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver; and possession of over 1,000 grams of cannabis.

Bond was set at $400,000 for Hoffman and $100,000 for Carlos on Thursday, according to the sheriff’s office. Both are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8.

The vehicle crashed into the toll booth near Barrington Road and burst into flames, according to police.
