A 72-year-old man died Friday after a crash last month on the Northwest Side near O’Hare International Airport.

The crash that killed Joachim Gerald Mastruzco happened Jan. 13, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Mastruzco, of the 3900 block of North Octavia, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 3:47 a.m. Friday, the medical examiner’s office said. An Autopsy Saturday revealed he died of complications from multiple blunt force injuries from a vehicle striking a fixed object. Hypertensive cardiovascular disease and diabetes were listed as secondary causes and his death was ruled an accident.

Details about the crash were not immediately available.
