Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said that he inherited a worthy team from John Fox, who was fired last year when GM John Elway grew frustrated with early playoff losses.

“I came to a really good football team; I know that,” Kubiak said after his Broncos defeated the Panthers, 24-10, in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday. “We asked them to make some concessions along the way. We were going to be a different type of team.”

He said he wanted to build the team around defense.

“We knew, defensively, that was the strength of our team,” Kubiak said. “We had to teach our guys that we were going to win a little bit (of) a different way.”
