Authorities in northwest Indiana canceled a silver alert early Monday for an 80-year-old man who went missing two days earlier.

Frank S. Komenda was last seen about 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Portage, according to the alert from Indiana State Police.

Police canceled the silver alert about 12:50 a.m. Monday after Komenda was found in Vandalia, Illinois, police said. He was taken to a hospital for a follow-up.
