One man was killed and another critically wounded in a shooting after a funeral Saturday evening in southwest suburban Bolingbrook.

Officers responding to a house in the 100 block of Cypress Drive in Bolingbrook at 7:12 p.m. found the 21-year-old man shot to death outside and another inside suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Bolingbrook police.

There had been a “large gathering of friends” at the house after an earlier funeral in Summit, police said. A fight broke out and someone opened fire.

Bolingbrook resident Juantrelle Quarles had been shot repeatedly and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Will County coroner’s office.

The other person injured in the shooting was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said. His exact age was unknown.
