When it comes to world championships, few teams contrast more than the Yankees and Cubs.

The Yankees are the proud owners of 27 World Series trophies, while the Cubs, on the other hand, haven’t won a title since 1908.

New York’s Twitter account reminded the world of that fact in a below-the-belt attack on Monday.

It started so innocently, with the Cubs simply polling its followers on which team had the better account. And then things escalated quickly.

Shots fired! That one’s going to sting for a while…

Unfortunately these teams won’t get the chance to settle things on the field this year – that is unless the heavyweights meet in the World Series as Starlin Castro suggested earlier this offseason.

It’s not as much of a longshot as you might think. The Cubs are 7/2 favorites to win the NL and New York is fourth at 8/1 in the AL, according to Vegas Insider.
