Teenager critically wounded in Lawndale drive-by shooting

A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a Lawndale neighborhood drive-by shooting Tuesday evening on the Southwest Side.

The teenager was standing outside in the 1300 block of South Homan at 6:34 p.m. when a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the upper body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A police source said he is a documented gang member.
