A small jet slid off a snowy runway Tuesday afternoon at O’Hare International Airport.
An Embraer Phenom E55p aircraft slid off the end of Runway 9-Left just after noon after landing at O’Hare, according to FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory. The plane was operated by NetJets.
No injuries were reported, but the runway remains closed, Cory said. The Embraer Phenom is a light jet that carries up to nine occupants.
A few minutes later, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 operating as American Airlines Flight 1051 requested to be towed to the terminal after sliding on Taxiway J, Cory said.
The FAA is investigating both incidents.
As of noon, more than 375 flights had been canceled at O’Hare because of snow and freezing rain, according to the city Department of Aviation.
