Police are looking for a woman missing since Wednesday morning from a northwest suburban shelter, which she left claiming to go to a job fair.

Doriana Norwood, 19, was last seen about 8 a.m. Wednesday at The Harbour House in the 300 block of North East River Road in unincorporated Des Plaines, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

She left the shelter and told the staff she was taking a bus to a job fair at Schaumburg hotel, but never returned, police said.

Police were notified Thursday and determined there was no job fair this week at the hotel.

Norwood has been “treated for mental illness in the past,” police said. Harbour House is a shelter young women “experiencing a personal and/or family crisis,” according to its website.

She is described a 5-foot, 138-pound black woman with brown eyes and brown hair. Police said she is known to frequent the Skokie, Evanston and Chicago areas.

Anyone with information should call sheriff’s police at (847) 635-1188 or (708) 865-4896.
