A man was wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 22-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 5100 block of West Chicago at 12:25 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right leg, police said. His condition was stabilized.
