A 36-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday in Gary, Indiana has been identified.

Amy Tucker, 37, of the 6700 block of Mercedes Avenue in Portage, Ind., was hit at 5:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of East Melton Road, according to Gary police and the Lake County Coroner’s office. She was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.

Police said Friday night that the crash was not a hit and run, but did not release further information.
