Police are warning residents about a series of armed robberies over the past month in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

In each reported robbery, one or more armed suspects approached the victims and demanded property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred:

  • In the 5000 block of South Paulina at 3:09 p.m. Feb. 14;
  • In the 4900 block of South Winchester at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 21; and
  • In the 4800 block of South Wolcott at 12:30 a.m. March 2.

Suspect descriptions in the three robberies varied but included one to two black males or a Hispanic male with black hair standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, and weighing 145-160 pounds, police said.
