The Bears weren’t done after Danny Trevathan.

The team is expected to meet with another inside linebacker, the Colts’ Jerrell Freeman, on Friday. Chris Hagan of Fox59 in Indianapolis first reported the interest.

The former CFL star turns 30 next month, but would still be a key stopgap alongside Trevathan, the inside linebacker who agreed to a deal Wednesday.

Freeman signed with the Colts before the 2012 season. In Chicago, he might be best remembered for returning a Jay Cutler pass 4 yards for a touchdown three-and-a-half minutes in his first NFL game.

The Waco, Texas, native started every one of the 57 games he’s played over four seasons. He had 112 tackles, three sacks and one interception last season.

Like Trevathan, he’s considered a bit undersized; Freeman is 6-feet, 240 pounds.
