PEORIA, Ariz. — The White Sox continued on their spring training home run binge with four more long balls in an 8-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Friday afternoon.

Leury Garcia, Jimmy Rollins, Jose Abreu and Courtney Hawkins each homered, the first three all coming in the third inning against Padres starter James Shields. The Sox have 20 homers in 10 Cactus League games, with 15 players contributing.

Left-hander Carlos Rodon, throwing only fastballs and changeups, pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks. Rodon struck out three.

“It was awesome, it was great,” Rodon said of not allowing a walk. “That’s what we’re looking for.”
