Overnight lane closures are planned on I-290 Saturday night as part of the ongoing Route 390 construction project.

One lane on eastbound I-290 will close between Higgins and Route 390 at 8 p.m., according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation. A second lane will close at 10 p.m., followed by a third at midnight, with intermittent full closures until 7 a.m. Sunday. All lanes will reopen by 8 a.m.

The ramp carrying Biesterfield Road traffic to eastbound I-290 will also be closed between 1-7 a.m. Sunday, according to IDOT. Detour signs will be posted.

One westbound lane of I-290 will also close between Irving Park and Biesterfield roads at 11 p.m. Saturday, IDOT said. It will reopen by 8 a.m. Sunday.

The closures will allow workers to install new roadway signs for the Elgin O’Hare Western Access Project, according to IDOT.
