An Illinois state trooper was injured in a crash early Sunday on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side.

The trooper performed a traffic stop about 1:15 a.m. in the outbound lanes of I-90/94 near 83rd Street, according to Illinois State Police.

During the stop, the trooper’s vehicle was rear-ended, police said.

She suffered “minor injuries” and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Additional details were not immediately available, but police do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
