Man shot in West Englewood

A man was shot Monday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 27-year-old man got into an altercation with four males in the 6600 block of South Damen about 1:15 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the left arm and took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, but was then transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Police said the victim is a self-admitted gang member.
