A man was shot Tuesday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The 21-year-old man was walking in the 4300 block of West Jackson Boulevard about 10:25 p.m. when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot in the left leg, Chicago Police said.

He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
