A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 25-year-old was walking in the 6800 block of South Elizabeth at 1:49 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, then saw a dark vehicle fleeing northbound, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the lower left leg and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Police said the victim is a documented gang member.
