An 18-year-old man was shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood early Friday on the South Side.

He was on a sidewalk in the 5000 block of South Paulina about 1:20 a.m. when someone opened fire from a blue van, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the forearm and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Investigators think the shooting was gang-related.
