A man was shot Friday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 18-year-old man was walking down the street in the 4600 block of West Jackson Boulevard at 9 p.m. when someone pulled a gun on him and announced a robbery, according to Chicago Police. The robber shot him in the leg when he attempted to run away.

He was taken to Loretto Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
