A man was shot while driving Wednesday afternoon in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood.

The 21-year-old was driving southbound in the 9400 block of South Stony Island Avenue about 12:40 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The victim continued driving for a few blocks until he pulled over in the 1600 block of East 95th Street and alerted police.

He was shot in the back and buttocks and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.
