Police are searching for a man who attempted to lure a teenage girl into his car in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side Tuesday morning.

A 14-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop on her way to school at 7 a.m. in the 300 block of East 35th Street when the man offered her a ride. He got out of the car and attempted to grab her by the arm, but the girl was able to pull away and board a bus, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

The man is described as a 20 to 25-year-old bald black man, standing 6-feet tall with a thin build and dark complexion. His car is described as a newer model black vehicle with silver door handles, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
