With one of the most instantly recognizable voices in music, hits that include “Misty,” “Wonderful Wonderful,” and “Chances Are,” and one of the biggest-selling Christmas albums of all time, the legendary Johnny Mathis is celebrating 60 years in show business with a new tour that arrives Aug. 13 at the Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Rd., Rosemont.

Pre-sale tickets ($45-$95) go on sale at 10 a.m. March 1 at ticketmaster.com. Use promo code “Misty.” General on-sale starts at 10 a.m. March 4. Comedian Gary Mule Deer opens.

Mathis was most recently nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for “Sending You A Little Christmas,” in 2015. Mathis, who began his singing career at the age of 17, received his first nomination in 1960 (the third year of the awards) for “Misty.”
