A winter weather advisory has been issued from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon, which will affect the Thursday morning commute.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory for snow from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 2 p.m. Thursday for Kane, DuPage, Cook, Kendall, Grundy, Will and Lake counties.

Snow is expected to accumulate late Wednesday evening, and the heaviest snowfall will occur between the early and mid-morning hours on Thursday. Total snow accumulations are expected to reach between 2 to 3 inches, with some areas seeing 4 inches of snow, according to the weather service.

Slippery, snow-covered roads and limited visibility will affect the morning commute, according to the weather service.
