A North Side man has been charged with robbing an Aldi grocery at gunpoint last month in north suburban Evanston.

Hamilton G. Solorzano, 37, was arrested Sunday and charged with felony armed robbery, according to Evanston police.

The robbery happened at the Aldi store at 2211 Oakton St. about 9 p.m. Jan. 9 when a clerk was robbed at gunpoint of $1,575.59 in cash, according to police.

Solorzano, of the 4400 block of North Kimball Avenue, was arrested Sunday, police said.

He was ordered held on a $30,000 bond, but may qualify for electronic monitoring, according to Cook County court records. He is next scheduled to appear in court March 16.
