Daytime lane closures on Sheridan Road in north suburban Winnetka will begin, weather permitting next week, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Closures will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning March 28 between Tower Road and Scott Street with intermittent traffic stops devoted to storm sewer work, according to the IDOT statement.

The closures will include improving drainage, reducing roadway flooding, roadway resurfacing and pavement markings, according to the statement.

Motorists should be on alert for workers and equipment, expect delays and seek alternative routes.

The project is expected to be completed by July 2016.
