A man was left in critical condition after he was shot several times in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side early Friday.

The 20-year-old was outside in the 5100 block of West Chicago Avenue about 2:15 a.m. when someone walked up to him and shot him in the neck, pelvis and back, police said.

Someone drove him to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
