Chicago Police are warning residents of armed robberies in the Hyde Park and Grand Boulevard neighborhoods on the South Side.

In both robberies, two to three men walked up to someone, pulled out a dark-colored handgun and demanded their property, according to a community alert from police. The robbers then fled in gray vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla.

The robberies happened at 10:41 p.m. March 19 in the 900 block of East 53rd Street, and at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of East Bowen Avenue, police said.

The robbers are described as two to three black men, 18-21 years of age, standing 5-foot-9 to 6-feet and weighing 145-170 pounds, police said. They have short hair and dark brown complexions.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
