An 18-year-old man who was shot to death in Rogers Park on Wednesday afternoon on the North Side has been identified.

About 4:15 p.m., Antonio Robert Johnson was outside in the 7400 block of North Ridge when someone walked up and shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Johnson was pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m. on the way to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 200 block of Richmond Street in Evanston.

Two people were seen running from the scene eastbound on Birchwood Avenue, according to a police source. Witnesses said they heard between 10 and 20 gunshots, and that the victim might have been riding a bicycle.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
