A 41-year-old man was shot and critically wounded Wednesday evening in Austin on the West Side.

About 5:40 p.m., he was inside a vehicle in the 500 block of North Lawler when he was shot in the upper arm, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

It was the neighborhood’s third shooting of the day, following attacks on Ohio and Laramie.
