A 20-year-old man is being held on a $1 million bond after prosecutors say he admitted to sexually assaulting a child younger than 10 for a period of about a year in northwest suburban Palatine.

Connor J. Noonan of the 100 block of South Walnut Street was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to Palatine police.

Police started investigating after the child made an “outcry” for help, a statement from police said.

The investigation showed that the sexual assaults “occurred on multiple occasions between May 2012 and June 2013 while the child visited Noonan’s home,” according to police.

After his arrest, “Noonan provided a video-taped confession of these allegations,” police said.

He appeared Friday at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse, where Judge Joseph Cataldo ordered him held on a $1 million bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 31.
