A 77-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Edison Park on the Northwest Side.

A 2013 Toyota was northbound in the 6600 block of North Harlem shortly after 3 p.m. when William Berberich ran in to the street, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Berberich, who lived in the 6800 block of North Overhill, was hit by the Toyota and died shortly after at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, authorities said.

The 54-year-old woman driving the Toyota remained at the scene after the crash, police said, and was not ticketed.
