Police are investigating shots fired early Saturday in northwest suburban Elgin.

Officers responding about 2:30 a.m. to the 700 block of Walnut Street found spent shell casings in an alley near a home that sustained damage from the gunfire, according to a statement from Elgin police.

No suspects are being questioned in connection with the shooting and additional information was not immediately available, police said.
