One person was injured in a fire early Sunday inside a South Shore neighborhood apartment building.

Firefighters responded to the blaze about 3:45 a.m. at the four-story courtyard apartment in the 6900 block of South Cornell, according to Fire Media Affairs.

One person was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a stabilized condition, fire officials said.

The blaze was struck out by 4:15 a.m. The cause is under investigation.
