Temporary lane closures on Lake Shore Drive will resume Tuesday on the South Side to install bridge pylons on the 35th Street bridge.

The two western lanes on southbound Lake Shore Drive will shut down between 31st and 35th streets from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, according to a statement from Chicago Department of Transportation.

Closures were initially scheduled for last week, but were delayed because of weather, CDOT said.

The bridge is one of five new or rebuilt bridges that aim to improve access from the South Side to the lakefront, CDOT said.
