A man was shot Tuesday in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 42-year-old man in his vehicle in the 8800 block of South Wood Street around 6:45 p.m., according to Chicago Police. A black SUV pulled up beside him and someone inside fired shots, hitting him in the head, arm and shoulder.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
