Kanye West’s road to the White House got a huge boost from one of our country’s founding fathers — albeit, the Broadway version of Alexander Hamilton.
“Hamilton” creator/writer/star Lin-Manuel Miranda told a Buzzfeed podcast audience that his stage musical is on some levels, the story of Kanye’s life.
It all happened at a recent performance of the impossible-to-get-tickets-for musical. Seems Miranda spotted West and wife Kim Kardashian West in the audience (second row, no less), and when the dynamic duo visited with him backstage during intermission, the revelation was made.
According to the New York Daily News, Manuel reveals during the podcast:
At intermission I came downstairs and said, ‘This whole show is about you,’ Miranda recalled on the Another Round with Heben and Tracy podcast. ‘It’s all about you, and Washington’s Jay Z, he told West. ‘And you started writing for Jay Z before you struck out on your own. Like it’s all about you.’ Then West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, pushed the parallels even further when she compared her famous family to the three Schuyler sisters in Hamilton. Kim was like, ‘And the three sisters!’ Miranda recounted. And I was like, ‘Yes, and the three sisters. It’s all about you.’
