Palatine police are searching for a 59-year-old man who was reported missing after having been last seen in southwest suburban Shorewood about three weeks ago.

Jeffrey MacDonald left his home in Palatine between 1-2:30 a.m. Feb. 25, and was last seen at a TCF Bank in Shorewood at 11:30 a.m., according to Palatine police.

MacDonald drove a 2004 red Mazda 6 station wagon with Illinois plates COX 977, police said.

His family told police MacDonald has been distressed about “personal matters and they fear for his safety,” police said.
