Police are warning residents after a pair of armed robberies in the last three weeks in the Beverly neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The robberies occurred:

  • between 8–1:30 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 1800 block of West 100th Street; and
  • between 8-11:30 p.m. March 1 in the 1700 block of West 104th Street.

In each incident, two suspects walk up to a male victim who is walking alone, and they either display a silver gun or pretend they have one by putting a hand in their sweatshirt before robbing the victim, police said.

The suspects are described as two black men between 16-18, about 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds. One of them had dreadlocks, and both wore hooded sweatshirts, police said.

Anyone with information should call Area South detectives at (312) 747-8273.
