An 87-year-old north suburban man arrested Monday after violating an order of protection will now have to wear an electronic monitor.

Julius Halperin of the 1000 block of Sunset Ridge Road in Northbrook was arrested at 8:20 a.m. Monday in the 4500 block of Seminole Drive in Glenview, according to Glenview police.

He was charged with violating an order of protection, a felony. Police said the incident “stems from a domestic situation with a family member” in Glenview. The family member had obtained the order after the initial incident.

A judge ordered Halperin released on a $10,000 individual recognizance bond, but ordered him to wear an electronic monitor, police said.

His next court date is scheduled for March 21 in Skokie.
